A Day in the Life -- Parenting Tweens

Out of the Sandbox Collaborator

Having a tween daughter (or tween girl in your life) puts a new twist on life – everything you see, you now see through new eyes. How is this experience going to affect her? Am I talking to her in a way that is going to boost her self-esteem? Am I teaching her what she needs to know?

Some of us parents come through all of that with ease – their ducks are in a row. Others of us are the epitome of the Hot Mess Mom. ALL versions of a mom are okay! Embrace your momming (or dadding!) style. The important thing to remember is that your tween girl needs you to just be there. Let her grow, create, explore, dance, sing, move, play, make friends, step outside of her comfort zone, and go big places and learn big things!

But after all of that, be the soft and safe place for her to land.
